»SOS Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 Who cares? If I already have stuff to extract jsut about everything, why would I want some useless crap riddling my system just for some arrogant 7z file?? I hate this sort of thing...
Samapico Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 winrar can extract more than only rar and zip too... and is what most people use, maybe after winzip for those who have less knowledge... so.. emmmmmm... yeh.. what SOS said
Bak Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 I just compressed the source for my ASSS server. 7-zip did it to 6 megs, windows zipping got it to 16 megs. 7-zip can do zip, rar, and 7z, in addition to tarbells. I'll try to get a link to 7-zip on the site though.
»SOS Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 ... who cares? As you might have noticed, nobody mentioned file size here. Nobody cares about file size! Crap programs riddling the system is what people care about.
»D1st0rt Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 It's not a crap program There are far worse things you can install
Samapico Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 windows zipping? like.. the thing you get on XP that does .zip files... but without winzip? ... sounds crap to me... WinRAR all the way
flamingstarch Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 kinda skimed the forum from what i gathered from the forum that project looks pretty tight
Samapico Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 wtf... is there anything Google doesn't do? ...
Trained Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Firey Cookie-O-Death. And believe it or not, im still pluggin away on that editor. Time is at a premium these days. Yay, our lives are saved! I dunno, DCME is giving you a run for you money Zig.
»ZiGNoTZaG Posted August 16, 2006 Author Report Posted August 16, 2006 Yeah it seems thats doing pretty well, and i hope it comes together. Every day i try to accomplish a thing or two in my editor. But i think DCME is few steps ahead of me now...im not sure how much LVZ stuff they delved into though...thats the tricky part IMHO. I needed a break from the video game world to deal with some real life issues. so the project just stalled for like a year or more. I recently started playing again, and once again returned to working on the editor. Eventualy i will have a beta, i wont just let it die. But im working alot now, 12 sometimes 14 hours a day. I know i might have got some hopes up and then disappear smashing those hopes againts the rocks...but life throws ya a curve ball sometimes.
Samapico Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 dont worry, we dont have started on LVZ at all
Samapico Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 dcme is a map editor first... thats what we done. lvz support will be done later , we're now adding elvl stuff
»Admiral Kirk Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 wow, seams like all the old time coders are returning, w/b ziggy
Witchie NL Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 does anyone know which zones actually use a 16 bit or higher tileset?my zone actualy used higher 32bit i think.(SSTQ MVP)(Currently offline) and the DS background is original 32bit's but if you put conti's colour depth to 32 the other graphix become ugly. (mines)
Witchie NL Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 why arnt you guys working together on DCME to expand it. youve made an lvz start. Help eachother implent it in DCME to make 1 large gfx dev program. i dont know if this is posible or that it will slow down the program to much but it looks better to me.
Drake7707 Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 everyone has its own code style, its not that easy to just pick a program, read the source a bit and start working on it. I find it pretty hard to read someone else's code and understand it all, that's why i write stuff myself, in my own way.
Witchie NL Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 ofcourse it is but you have to admit that its easyer to get code from an other src then to think of it you own/create it on your own. anyway keep up the good work mate! :samapico:  cant wait for it to come out!
