I\/Ir Beefie Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 (edited) I was just wondering if yet there is a subspace client that works on a mac? I'm soon about to make the switch from windows to mac. Thanks in advance for your help. Edited June 20, 2007 by I\/Ir Beefie
rootbear75 Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 not one yet as far as i know. doesn't VMWare work on MACs?
Cancer+ Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 Why would you go to MAC? You could always use, as rootbear said, VMWare or VirtualPC.
»doc flabby Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 as new Macs are now (intel) x86 you might be able to run continuum using darwine http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=18111 alternativly there is always parallels/bootcamp
I\/Ir Beefie Posted June 20, 2007 Author Report Posted June 20, 2007 I was going to get parallels, but then Ill have to pay $100 for the software, plus $200-$300 for the windows xp software. This means close to $400 just to play subspace, not worth it for me
rootbear75 Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 dont you already use windows though?just use the cd that came with your current computer
»doc flabby Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 I was going to get parallels, why don't u try darwine first. Its free and will probably work.
»Blocks Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 why don't u try darwine first. Its free and will probably work.It doesn't. I tried it on 10.4 a while ago, kept giving some error, and I'm not clever enough to debug it.
Synook Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 Welll you never know who is around.... someone may be able to
L.C. Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 Hey, if you could find bigshot3754, he might be able to get you hooked up with some software.
»Rowen Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 parallels works.virtual pc does not.vmware (newer versions) work.darwine does not. There is little hope for serious play on PPC.
I\/Ir Beefie Posted June 26, 2007 Author Report Posted June 26, 2007 I would really rather not run windows on my mac... I'm wondering if there a game client or a chat client that will work on a mac? If there isn't, is one currently being worked on?.. or is it something that will never happen? http://toktok.sscentral.com/ss-game.html - what about this website?
