grazzhoppa Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 Here's the .3ds files for those modelscontinuum_.3dsModels.zip Warbird and Lancaster are the most complete Quote
o()o Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 (edited) I made a warbird with blender once, I can't remember if I released the source file but I'll attach it here anyway. Here are the renders if anyone wants to use them:http://toktok.sscentral.com/dump/ship1.pngdownload the rolls I think the .blend file should have the rotation script embedded in it. It's not very detailed, but when rendered at 36x36 no one will know. the attachment is dead.Could someone please re-post the model? (preferably in a format that blender can open)Its such a nice model Edited July 18, 2007 by o()o Quote
Smong Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 Sure, http://toktok.sscentral.com/dump/ss-warbird-blender3d.zip Quote
o()o Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 (edited) Sure, http://toktok.sscentral.com/dump/ss-warbird-blender3d.zip Excellent that is exactly what i needed. Thank you so much. EDIT:I'm sorry, but i'm not too good with blender scripts and have trouble changing the script. You see I want the animation to just take like 17 images of it tilting from left to center to right with no rotating on Z plane. Could you possibly write me a script or am i asking too much. btw this is for the game i am currently programming so i guess i need you permission to use it in-game. I will put your name in the credits of course if you approve. Edited July 19, 2007 by o()o Quote
Smong Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 I'm not entirely sure what you want, although it sounds like a scrolling shooter where when you move left/right the ship tilts a bit in that direction. Can you confirm that or post/link images to something similar as an example? Plus is that 8 left rolls, 1 normal pic and another 8 right rolls? (to make 17 total). Anyone is free to use/modify my warbird model, if this for a non-SS game I'd rather subspace was credited than me (more publicity, hehe). Quote

Yes you are correct in that it has 8 left rolls then a center one then 8 to the right, however it is still top-down, like subspace. Here I made this manually by tilting the ship for each image. (Phew)http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/3372/wbbd8.jpg If you could produce a script that did what I did in the picture above, it will be greatly appreatiated. I put "Inspired by the game Subspace" and "Warbird model provided by Smong" hows that. Edited July 20, 2007 by o()o Quote
Smong Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Ok I made 2 .blend files one for facing upwards and one for facing rightwards. I added numrolls and degreesperroll settings into the script incase you want to change them. After doing it I realised I had it making the left rolls before the right rolls, I hope you don't mind. Download: http://toktok.sscentral.com/dump/wb-sidescroller.zip Preview of right rolls: (also in the zip file)http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/6373/wbrightwardsnl2.pngAs you can see it is very close to the edge of the image, you might have to move the camera slightly further away. Also incase you haven't already got something like this, here's a link to a program that will combine all the frames into 1 image: http://www.toktok.sscentral.com/dump/ssm-beta1.zip Quote

grazzhoppa Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 (edited) Here's the .3ds files for those modelscontinuum_.3dsModels.zip Warbird and Lancaster are the most completeTerrier is updated. Here it is as a .3DS file terrier13.zipVideo of it:http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=15...03103&hl=en ps. please allow the extension .3ds to be uploaded so 1 file doesn't need to be inside a .zip December 20, 2007: All original 3Ds Max files of these models (including an updated Weasel that I was about to post here) have been lost because of corruption to the harddrive's MBR. I'm sorry.I don't foresee myself making these from scratch again anytime soon. Edited December 21, 2007 by grazzhoppa Quote
Samapico Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 ps. please allow the extension .3ds to be uploaded so 1 file doesn't need to be inside a .zipI don't think zipping it is very hard Plus it reduces download size Nice work Quote
The Unliked One... Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Btw grazzhoppa it was me who used the lanc on the poster. Works wonders even though I didn't color it right (didn't want to texture it all over, lazy me) and the engine wasn't right, But yeah they look awesome. I might need all of the ships modeled someday in near future actually, probably should get my lazy !@#$%^&* to work and help you with the modeling Quote
s-abbas Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 dunno if u guys sitll need this... but if i can get someone to tell me how to texture it.. i can do it for all the .3ds ships... Quote
aquarius Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 One of us must be rich (not me) hire a !@#$%^&* professional. Quote
BlueWyvern Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Wish I could find more animations than the "Spinning" ship ones, like an animation that covers every camera angle of a 3D Ship and covers different camera rotations around those ships, better yet figure out a way to integrate an actual 3D model for After Effects. I'll find out eventually I guess. Quote
jack57tin Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 The original ships are from subspace and the original 3D files of the ships are probably lost. Someone might have recreated them and released the image you link in your post but I doubt those 3D files are available aswell. Quote
BlueWyvern Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 They are available, I made that. But they were rather limited as they were already composited 3D animations and not actual 3D models which I would have preferred. Quote
Sass Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 Just wondering, why would anyone spend time on 3D ss models at this point? Better ships can be easily designed perhaps even using the same colors and with more detail. Quote
»Purge Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 yeah, I personally favor rolls over isometric 3D models. Quote
BlueWyvern Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 (edited) I wanted them to animate them, it's fun. Edited February 1, 2008 by BlueWyvern Quote
L.C. Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 I think I like 3D/Isometric better; anyone ever play Shadowgrounds? Excellent example. Quote
»doc flabby Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Do you the original 3D models of those ships? I would be interested in using them in STF Quote
aquarius Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 i don't have the models, i think i can get them though shark and lancaster are ugly, especially lancaster Quote
